Digital Story Writing Course Program

Purpose of Course
The purpose of this course is to develop digital story preparation skills of teachers and teacher candidates.

Content of Course
Participants will gain knowledge and experience in creating educational stories using digital tools; they will gain the competence to use these stories effectively in teaching processes. Thus, they will be able to enrich students' learning processes by making course content more interesting and memorable. As part of the course content, first of all, general information about digital storytelling will be shared with the participants by the instructor. Then, the instructor will conduct sample applications on how participants can use digital stories as a learning tool in the teaching process and will prepare training materials to support digital stories. For this purpose, the use of digital stories will be implemented in different stages of the course (attention-grabbing stage, teaching stage, measurement and evaluation stage). After the sample applications, the participants will present the digital stories they will prepare as a group in a lesson plan in the classroom in practice and their work will be evaluated by the instructor according to the criteria in the project evaluation form.

Target Audience of the Course
This course is designed for teachers and teacher candidates who want to learn digital storytelling techniques and use these skills in their education processes. Course participants should have basic computer skills even if they do not have prior knowledge of digital storytelling. It is thought that the course will be useful for individuals who want to develop creative thinking, communication and collaboration skills and are open to innovative teaching methods. All educators who want to enrich students' learning experiences and support teaching materials with digital tools are within the target audience of this course. This course aims to contribute to the professional development of teachers and teacher candidates by enabling them to adapt to innovations in the digital world. The course program is suitable for the following groups: 1. Teachers: Primary school, middle school and high school teachers working in every branch 2. Teacher Candidates: Teacher candidates studying in teaching programs of education faculties, Teacher candidates who want to prepare for a teaching career after graduation.

Education Outcome
A certificate of achievement is given to participants who successfully complete all requirements of the course. In order to receive this certificate, participants must not exceed the specified period of absence, actively participate in group work, complete the assigned homework and tasks completely, prepare and present a digital story project as a group at the end of the course, and this project must meet at least 80% success criteria according to the project evaluation criteria. In order to receive a participation certificate, participants must regularly attend 70% of the course, prepare and present a digital story project as a group (minimum success score according to the project evaluation criteria will not be taken into account). At the end of the course, participants will be asked to prepare and present a digital story project as a group. Projects that meet at least 80% success criteria according to the project evaluation criteria will be considered successful. The rubric containing the project evaluation criteria will be presented among the documents to be added to the application form.
